GuideStar is a USA institution created to evaluate the performance and social impact of US nonprofit organizations.

Some of the information provided by the GuideStar evaluation may also be verified through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), but GuideStar provides more information about the organization, its goals and effectiveness. GuideStar has established 4 levels of transparency, commitment and Social impact to classify thousands of non profit organizations operating in the USA. The levels are: Bronze (basic information of the organization), Silver (adds program information and brand details), Gold (also provides financials and people information), and Platinum (stating the goals and the difference that the organization is making).

The Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world's largest source of nonprofit information.

In 2018, Bircham International University achieved the Platinum level of the GuideStar ranking for its non profit project dedicated to helping students worldwide to access a good education. Only four universities achieved the Platinum Seal that year.

The Platinum Seal of Transparency indicates that BIU shares clear and important information with the public about its goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements and progress indicators that highlight the difference and impact that BIU makes in the world. Among other things, BIU discloses the yearly scholarship fund, the average amount of scholarships granted per student, and the total number of students who have received a scholarship.

All the subsequent years, Bircham International University has maintained the Platinum level of the GuideStar ranking. This rating puts BIU in the top 10 of USA non profit organizations in terms of transparency.
