It strives for the development and exchange of scientific and technological knowledge in Robotics and Automation that benefits members, the profession and humanity. It is part of the IEEE consortium, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Being a member of RAS ensures the maintenance of high professional standards among its members, and provides opportunities for the collaboration and exchange of information, innovation and research with peers.

In 2021, William Martin was admitted as member of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society on behalf of Bircham International University. BIU graduates in the fields of industry operations, robotics and automation are encouraged to become members of the Robotics and Automation Society and benefit from its resources and networking.
