Established in 1977, IASTED - International Association of Science and Technology for Development, organizes multidisciplinary conferences for academics and professionals in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, management, and education.

The International Association of Science and Technology for Development currently provides a forum for Scientists, Researchers and Industry members from all over the world to interact with one another and learn the latest developments in the fields of Science and Engineering. In addition, IASTED is looking to expand its conference topics to include areas within Management, Medicine, Sociology and Law.

Bircham International University became a member of IASTED - International Association of Science and Technology for Development in 2001.
